Dear Coastal Bend TAPT Chapter Members,
As I step into the role of President for the Coastal Bend TAPT Chapter for the 2025–2026 school year, I want to take a moment to introduce myself and share my excitement for what lies ahead.
My passion for pupil transportation began long before I ever sat behind the wheel of a school bus. As a young child, I insisted on sitting in the first seat—right behind the driver—watching in awe as they turned that big steering wheel, swung open those squeaky doors, and made the bus “sneeze” by pulling that familiar knob on that old 1980’s model International S-Series school bus. These weren’t just bus drivers—they were role models who inspired me to pursue the path I’m on today. With some being my own family members, I can honestly say I probably do have a bit of yellow running through my veins—for real!
I began my career at the ripe age of 19 years old as a school bus driver for Goliad ISD and have since had the opportunity to serve in multiple roles – including trainer, supervisor, manager—and now proudly serve as the Director of Transportation for Victoria ISD. With over 15 years of experience in this industry, I’ve seen firsthand the heart, dedication, and professionalism that define our work.
To me, those in pupil transportation are never “just school bus drivers.” We are the first smiles students see each morning and the last ones they wave to in the afternoon. Whether you're a school bus driver, aide, administrator, or a valued vendor partner, you play a vital role in shaping a student's educational journey. Every ride is more than just transportation—it's a chance to create a safe, welcoming, and positive start to their day, leaving a lasting impact that reaches far beyond the school gates.
As we look to the coming year, I’m filled with optimism and determination. I’m committed to working alongside each of you to grow and strengthen our local chapter while supporting our state and national organizations. I believe in the power of collaboration, and I want to hear from you—your ideas, your priorities, and the challenges you face. Together, we can make meaningful progress and continue to elevate our profession.
Please know that I am here to serve. Whether it’s a quick chat, brainstorming session, or problem-solving conversation, my door is always open. I’m ready to learn, grow, and lead with you by my side.
Let’s make the 2025–2026 school year an incredible one. I look forward to connecting with each of you and continuing the great work we do every day in student transportation.
With sincere appreciation,
